New Product Range Designed for EuroRack Synths
In November 2023 we were aked if we could make a version of the XPatch for EuroRack Synthesisers, This has been an interesting and enjoyable project and we are now at the prototype stage.
We decided to make a family of products all controlled by the same CPU interface. The system allows for a maximum of 16 units, we will initially release the CPU module and the 16x16 cross point switch, two of which can be combined to make a 32x32 cross point. This will be followed by a 8 channel Gain control module with summing. These modules are DC coupled and can be used for Audio, Control voltage or Trigger/Gate signals.
After working with the Prototype we decided to add a Trigger Input/Output section to the CPU module. You can see the final front panels below
XPatch4 has been updated to XPatch5 to include the new interfaces (To be released). This will alow both the standard XPatch modules to be controlled from the same program as the EuroRack modules.
For more information you can download a draft version of the user guide, or see the ER-Range product page.

We are proud to announce the release of the TC-5net Midi and the TC-7 Midi.
The TC-5net adds an Ethernet port with Artnet timecode support to the TC-5B-Midi. It is available with the ethernet port fitted or without the ethernet port fitted, with the ability to upgrade to have an ethernet port at a later date.
The TC-7 Midi adds dual LTC inputs, timecode distribution and Status display to the TC-5net Midi, in a 1U unit.
Another great in depth review from Matt Houghton at Sound on Sound for our XP-Relay!
It’s a winning combination of sophisticated software and refreshingly simple hardware.
Read the review with the link below to see what he thinks.
Recently a customer asked for advice on how to connect the Prya-Sum to an XPatch. I looked at the specification of the Pyra-Sum it seemed to be a natural fit with the XPatch and that they would work well together. I decided to generate an example using the XPatch-64, Pyra-Sum, equalizers and Compressors. The XPatch-96 should be used for larger systems.
Users have asked if we have a plug-in that would allow them to save the xpatch setup with their session. While looking at this for the future we have an interim solution.
It’s the first day of the show.
Meet Hardware and Software Designer Colin Broad at NAMM 2023, Stand 15624.
Who's coming round for a chat/demo of our new products?
Next Month (April 13th to 15th) CB Electronics will be exhibiting with Wes Dooley at the NAMM show in Anaheim.
Apart from the some small bug fixes in both the Software and firmware the main change with XPatch 4.2 is the inclusion of a Stream Deck Interface.
We received the long waited metalwork at midday today (31 Jan 23) and have started assembling the finished units, we are on track to ship about 25 this week complete with rack ears and the remainder next week which will leave us with about 50 in stock
We spoke to our metalworker supplier today (Wednesday 25th Jan 2023) and the have told us that delivery will now be on Monday the 30th due to a hold up with painting..
The standard latency on the Apple/FTDI driver is 16milli-Seconds this is too slow for reliable serial control. On Windows the FTDI driver allows you to set the latency, on Mac the latency is fixed. We provide a low latency FTDI Driver for MAC OSX Mac OS X10.15 and macOS 11/12. This is based on the FTDI Beta driver release and the installer should be run from the Applications folder on your machine.
The CB Online shop is now accepting pre-orders for the TC-5B-midi, We are waiting for the metalwork which should arrive about the 15th of January and expect initial deliveries will be before the end of January 2023.
Unfortunately due to component price rises we have been forced to put the price up on the XPatch-32/64/96.
The XP-Relay is the latest member of the XPatch family, as the name suggests the crosspoint matrix is made from relays. The XP-Relay is available with a 8x8 up to 16x16 Matrix. The 16x16 uses 256 relay’s for the audio matrix and a further 16 relays for phantom power on/off.
Similarities
Both convert between MTC and LTC
Both accept MMC (Midi Motion Control) Commands
The MIF4 timecode source select commands are now have now added to the TC-5B software as specified in the MIF4 Specifications.
Differences
1) The TC-5B time code source is selected in a setup menu so that the front panel may be used to monitor the Inputs and outputs without disturbing the operation
2) The TC-5B has two Midi ports on the USB, allowing two separate apps to be connected to the TC-5B.
3) The TC-5B App allowing setup and control of the TC-5
4) The TC-5B has a GP I/O Connector
In the past year we have added two new XP devices (XPatch-96 and XP-Relay) to the Xpatch-32 and XPatch-64 and made a number of upgrades to the XPatch4 Software. In fact so many that I have to be reminded by users about some.
Finally - We are happy with the silk screen, we are sending out the first modules to be tested by users next week. We can now get the Gain module silk screened! Happy Days.
