Q. When should the Generator be locked to word clock or Video Syncs?

A. When regenerating timecode it depends on the timecode source, if it is locked to video or word clock then use the appropriate reference, if not or you are not sure lock the generator to the source.

When using the Virtual machine to generate timecode use Video Syncs or Word clock if either is available.

Q. Hi - we have one of your TC-5B devices in line with a timecode source, which then goes into the input of a focusrite soundcard. The soundcard is providing a timecode input to resolume. When the TC-5 is in line we get a strange blip on the timecode clock when nothing is playing - almost like the clock is catching on to something but then it goes back to 0. Do you know what might be causing this? Is there a setting to change in the config software?

A. Probably caused by Stationary timecode, you can disable this in the setup menu.

Q. How do we turn stationary off? Is it in the software or can we do it on the interface?

A. Two ways

From the Front Panel

Hold the [<] (Config) key depressed for about 5 seconds the display will change to "ConFiG 1", use the [>] and [<] keys to step through the menu until you see the display"StAt ON", you can then use the [/\] and [\/] keys to change between "StAt ON" and "StAt OFF". Depress the [<] (Config) key for about 5 seconds to leave config.

From the TC5B Software
